Take your Child (ren) to Jesus

Matthew 19v13-15 NIRV

V13 some people brought little children to Jesus.
They wanted Him to place His hands on the children and pray for them. But the disciples told the people to stop.
V14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them.
V 15 Jesus placed His hands on them. Then He went on from there.

Jesus wants us to bring our children to Him so that He can
bless them. So that He can lay His hands on them. The world is fighting for your children through various means. But you should make a decision that your children will be taken to Jesus. Daily hand them over to Jesus so that His hands can be placed on them.
Jesus tells us not to keep them away. It’s not only on Sundays during Sunday school or church. It should be done daily.

Mark 10v13-14 States the same incidence, however Mark tells us Jesus was upset that His disciples were hindering the children from coming to Him. No one (not even you) should hinder you from taking your children to the King of kings, the Lover of our soul.

Consciously take them to Him.

In the next chapter Matthew 20 we see Mrs. Zebedee the mother of James and John Zebedee take her children to the King. Probably she heard or saw what took place in chapter 19 and she thought why not my children? Though they are men but why not? why not take them to Jesus. Yes they follow him but I want a special request. I don’t want what they are doing here to last here but I want forever for my children.

What special request do you have for your children?

This shouldn't be done for babies or small children alone, older children who have become men and women or even fathers and mothers shouldn’t be left out.

In verse 20, we read that she got on her knees and worshiped Jesus. (NIRV and KJV)
She worshiped Jesus with her sons in tow. Jesus had to ask what she wanted and she asked that her children be made important in God’s kingdom.

V21 what do you want? Jesus asked. She said, “Promise me that one of my two sons may sit at your right hand in your kingdom. Promise that the other one may sit at your left hand

What we can learn from her?:

1)      She worshiped Jesus. We should worship Jesus. Sing of His praises, adore Him. Let Him be the Lord of our hearts. Let him reign supreme in us.
2)      She went with her sons. Though they were men she took them with her to Jesus. Take your children with you. Let them see you worship the King of kings on their behalf. Don’t go alone. Go with your children. If they can’t go with you physically let them know you are taking them to Jesus. Let them know you are praying for them.
3)      She made her request. Not a worldly request to give her children wealth but one of everlasting life. Though Jesus didn’t give her a yes because it’s not for him to decide he also didn’t tell her no.

Prayer :

Lord I thank you. I appreciate you. I thank you for making me a carrier of my children. Lord may your name be glorified forever.  May your everlasting Kingdom come and your will be done on earth. I love you Lord not only for the things you have done or for the things you would do but because when I didn’t deserve love or life you gave it to me. I am no body but you have given me the privileges I dare not dream of.I don’t have anyone in heaven or earth but you. Psalm 73v25. You are all I have Jesus.

Lord you said in Matthew 7v7 that I should ask and you would give me, that if I search and seek for you I will find you and if I knock you would open the door for me

Lord I bring my children to you (say their names) please let them be in your soon coming kingdom. Please keep them safe from the evil one so that they won’t lose their reward or miss their purpose. Let them reign with you. Don’t let them be partakers of hell. Let their lives mirror your life. Let them drink from your cup of suffering if that will take them to heaven. Even though I don’t want them to suffer but I would prefer that to eternal suffering in hell. In Jesus name I pray. (Amen)

If you have other prayer request for your children you can state them.

The grace of God be with us and help us in Jesus name.
